Mini Strikers - age 2 - pre-school What they'll learn: During their time in MiniStrikers we aim for children to achieve the following:
Stopping the ball with their feet Moving with the ball at their feet Changing direction with the ball Developing balance & co-ordination To have FUN!
What they ideally need to do... For children to be ready for MiniStrikers, they should be confident on their feet and able to run, as well as being able to respond to age-appropriate directions. Parents/carers will initially work with their child in order to help them gain confidence and develop these core skills as quickly as possible.

Developing confidence in stopping, controlling & moving with the ball Dribble the ball in different directions Continue to develop their balance & co-ordination Progress into small sided football matches To continue to have FUN!
Other skills Children are expected to undertake the session without too much parent involvement, however we understand each individual child may require slightly different needs.
Depending upon the overall confidence and ability of the group, they may progress as far as playing very simple, short small-sided ‘matches’ as part of the weekly programme during the final term.

Experience
How we started SupaStrikers was started in Gloucestershire in 2005 by Andy and Carolyn Tucker, following the success of AT Soccercamps (football for school age children) since 1994. We have gained many years of experience in providing football fun for children aged 2-5 years, which takes the form of weekly indoor sessions. As well as learning core football and movement skills, children also develop their awareness of shapes, colours, simple numbers and social skills such as listening, sharing and teamwork.
Expertise with this age group Our approach will complement that of good playgroups and nurseries etc. In addition to football courses, all of our coaches complete specialist training courses to develop their expertise in working with these age groups.
Where possible, we usually work with a maximum ratio of 1 Coach: 6 Children and most of our groups are a maximum of 12 children (Weekend sessions run at larger venues with higher numbers, although the coaching ratio is maintained).
Our Ethos We believe children learn best through having fun, therefore our sessions are lively and interactive. Stability within the group is also important, therefore, we operate on a membership basis to ensure that the children see familiar faces each time.
Parents/Carers are encouraged to join in, especially with the younger MiniStrikers. The programme and equipment are specifically designed for this age group, and there is no ‘heavy’ coaching. However, members will learn lots of skills that will really benefit their future physical and sporting development.
